I came across this small park on my way to MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry). It's a popular relaxation spot for city workers and tourists. I decided to join them and this is where I had my lunch in between sightseeing. The park has a monmument which comemorates William Marsden who acquired, in 1843, the Saturday Holiday in Manchester.
The gardens were originally part of St John's Church and Graveyard. The church was destroyed in 1931 and then the gardens became a city park.
St John's Gardens were awared a Green Flag Award in 2010.
