Grand reservoir is one of the main tourist attractions in Rewakund. Situated near Roopmati’s Pavilion. This reservoir was built to adequately provide water supply to the palace. The construction of this reservoir is a very interesting tale. It is said that the last independent ruler of Mandu once was on hunting when he chanced upon a shepherdess who was frolicking with her friends. Smitten by her beauty the ruler asked her whether she would accompany him to the palace. She agreed after much pleading on condition that she would live in a palace that faces the bellowed and revered Narmada river. Hence Baz Bahadur built the palace and the reservoir. The reservoir is about 3.2km trek south of the monuments around the village. Various other monuments are situated in this area. The Rewa Kund is a tank of sacred water from the Rewa, another name for the revered Narmada. This is where the love of the musician-prince Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati’s flowered. This reservoir at that time was an architectural marvel because of its design that facilitated the storage and supply of adequate water for the palace.
