Chishti Khan's Palace, Mandu, Madhya Pradesh India

This palace built in the sixteenth century as a retreat for the rainy season, is much decayed. The main wing in the south consists of a rectangular hall with a room at each end. There is a Persian inscription making a poignant reference to the desolation of the surroundings. As the building is much decayed so its plan cannot be made out for certain. It seems that its plan originally consisted of a central court enclosed by a number of halls and rooms of which traces are still seen in its south and north.
