Ujali Baoli, Mandu, Madhya Pradesh India

Out of the two wells the Ujali Baoli (or bright well, so called because it is open, as opposed to the other. Which is covered and hence called Andheri-Baodi or dark well) is larger and deeper and has two flights of steps on two sides leading to the water level . Inside are a number of arched and landings for the convenience of water carriers. At the top to the north is a water lit and on the south is a pavilion for royal guards to keep watch on the baoli.
