Sangram Sagar Lake, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh India

This is Sangram Sagar Lake build by the First Gond King “Sangram Sahi”.A palace between the lake can be seen known as “Aam Khas”.

 Located at a distance of about 15 km from the main city, this lake is a popular tourist destination in Jabalpur. There is a magnificent fort erected near the lake known as Bajnamath, which was constructed in the medieval times under the reign of the God King, Sangram Shah. Apart from the imposing structure of the fort, the serene atmosphere of the lake draws a number of tourists to this place. The lake also serves as a home to various species of aquatic creatures and migratory birds, thus making it a great place for bird- watchers.

The famous Gond King, Sangram Shah built these structures during the medieval period of 1480-1540. The Sangram Sagar is located at a distance of 15 Km from Jabalpur. A number of aquatic creatures find home in the Sangram Sagar Lake. Birds from central parts of western Asia like, pin-tailed ducks, coots and red-perched pochards are seen in this lake.
