Relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the oldest living convent in England. One of the hidden sercrets of York the Bar Convent houses a museum of religion, a domed neo-classical chapel hidden beneath a pitched slate roof, together with a fabulours café, gardens and gift shop.

All food prepared on site and traditional Yorkshire breakfast available daily from 7.30 - 11am. Meeting room facilities and 3 star guest house accommodation also available. We welcome people of all faiths.
