How to Reach Bhatinda, India
Bhatinda by Road:
Private and J&K Tourism Buses and taxis ply to Kud on National Highway 1A from Jammu, Katra, Kud and Srinagar frequently every day. As these places are predominantly tourist spots, transport in between cities is frequent in order to promote tourism in these areas. Bus route State Govt. Road Transportation of J&K (J&K SRTC) has connected most major towns and cities to Kud by bus – especially from Jammu. Between Jammu and Kud or Srinagar and Kud bus fare could range between Rs. 150 and Rs. 300 respectively. Private buses are also available to Kud from various big towns such as Udhampur, Jammu and Srinagar.
Bhatinda by Train:
The closest railhead is Jammu Tawi (JAT) in Jammu – 106 kilometres away from Kud. Jammu connects to the rest of the country through Udhampur, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Once in Jammu, shared taxis or shared jeeps or J&K SRTC and private buses are available to take you to Kud. It takes about 2-3 hours by road from Jammu to Kud and costs between Rs. 100 – Rs. 300 one way per head in a shared taxi or a bus.
Bhatinda by Air:
Jammu’s Satwari Airport (Code IXJ) is the closest to Kud at 106 kilometres. In order to reach Kud, travelers are to take a flight from Delhi to Jammu which could take between one and a half hours to 3 hours depending on the aircraft and once in Jammu, taxis or J&K TDC buses and private buses could be taken to travel to Kud in about 2 hours. Alternatively, one could fly from one of the several cities of India to Srinagar Airport (Code SXR) also known as Sheikh ul Alam Airport and then drive 193 kms to Kud by J&K TDC Buses or private buses or taxis which could take between 4 and 5 hours travel time. Between Jammu and Srinagar, Jammu is the closer airport. Flights from Delhi to Jammu usually ply in the mornings and flights from Srinagar usually ply at noon. Air tariff between Delhi and Jammu is about Rs. 3500 per head one way and between Delhi and Srinagar is about Rs. 4000.
