Bharat Mandir, Porbandar, Gujarat India

Bharat Mandir, an ancient temple founded by Shankaracharya Adiguru during the 12th century, is an imposing sanctuary located in the heart of the city of Rishikesh. The main deity installed here is of Lord Vishnu, the idol is carved from a single piece of Saligram. A spectacular sacred Shree Yanthra is placed on the inside cover of the temple. The details of this ancient temple are recorded in the register of Kearkhand very old. Now is the renewed Temple rebuilt on the ruins of the original temple destroyed by Tamur. Recent excavations took many ancient statues, vases and antique coins of this site.
