Diwan-e-Khas Hall, Jaipur, Rajasthan India

Diwan-i-Aam is a hall located in the City Palace of Jaipur. It was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the eighteenth century. Diwan-i-Aam or Hall of Public Audience, where the kings used to hear the suggestions, complains or cases of the common men. The hall is characterized in different parts, such as Durbars, Jails and Banquets. Durbar is the place where the entire proceedings were carried out and the Jails are the places where the royal queens used to accumulate clad in Purdah to watch the proceedings of the Durbar.
