Tulsi Udyan, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh India

This small, but beautiful garden is located on Ayodhya-Faizabad road, near Ayodhya bus stand in Ayodhya, district district Faizabad, U.P. The park is built to commemorate memory of Swami Tulsi Das, who wrote the famous epic Ram Charit Manas. The construction of the park was started on 1st Jan, 1960 but could only be completed in Dec-1963. A statue of Swami Tulsi Das is installed under a beautifully carved canopy.

Goswami Tulsidas is closely associated with the twin towns of Ayodhya and Faizabad. The saint poet had written the epic Ramcharit Manas (Ramayan) and is still a revered name in any Hindu household. The Garden dedicated to the poet saint is located on the National highway and was earlier known as Victoria Park and had a statue of Queen Victoria at the center. It was in 1960, that the park was renamed Tulsi Udyan.

An attractive statue of the poet saint has since been installed in the park. The garden has been beautifully maintained and offers many facilities for children as well as an opportunity for the elders to be in sync with the nature.

Tulsi Udyan, as the name suggests, is a garden park. It was set up as a memorial to a great saint poet Tulsi Das, the devotee and the creator of the Epic Ramcharit Manas, also popularly called Ramayana. The statue of Tulsi Das has also been installed under a beautifully carved canopy in the garden.

The garden is situated near the Adyodhya Bus Stand on the National Highway passing through Faizabad, a part of the Ayodhya region. The earlier name of the garden was Victoria Park, after the name of the Queen Victoria of England. It also had her statue. The park got its present name, Tulsi Udyan, in 1960. The garden is currently under the management of the Udyan Vibhag, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
