Santpura Gurudwara is a sikh religious place. This Gurudwara situated in the heart of Yamuna nagar on MLN College Road Yamunanagar, Haryana. Dera Santpura is a Dera of Sewa Panthis. The Sect of Sewa Panthi was founded by Bhai Kanahaiya Sabib Ji who was a selfless person with a great soul. Bhai Ji served the society with love and devotion. Bhai Kanahaiya Sahib Ji served water to friends and foes without any discrimination in the battle field. Some Sikhs complained against Bhai Kanahiya Sahib Ji to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. When Guru Ji asked Bhai Kanahaiya Sahib Ji about such an action Bhai Ji replied that while serving water in the battle he considers friends and foes as creation of God and all were equal to him. Listening to him, Guru Ji blessed him and gave him ointment with bandages and ordered him to dress him to dress their wounds too. Bhai Ji had also been earlier blessed by the Ninth Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji for serving the mankind without caring about caste, colour or creed. Thus this sect of sewa panthis was set up for the service of humanity. Following the steps of Bhai Ghanya Ji, Sant Pandit Nischal Singh Ji Maharaj set up Dera Santpura in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, India. He laid stress on the education specially of women in the society. He set up Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School for boys and Girls, Guru Nanak Girls College, a post graduate institution in which the students from other parts of India and abroad study. It has hostel facilities also. He helped the poor, helpless and orphans. Thus he is a rare and probably the first example in Sikh history having virtues of Pandit(a scholar) and saint together in one personality.
