Jogeswar Shiva Temple is Jogisarda, about 25 km from Balangir, in Balangir District of Orissa. The presiding deity here is Lord Shiva, known here as Jogeswar Shiva. Every year Thousands of devotees from far and near visit the temple to pay their respect. The temple was built by the former Zamidars of Loisingha.
Jogeswar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was largely assisted through the rehabilitation funds donated by Music Baron Gulshan Kumar in the year 1993. This unexpected source of help was utilized to fit marble tiles and erect a "Jugal Murti" of Shiba-Parbati cut out of a single stone featuring as a special spiritual gift and placed in the sanctum-sanctorum. There also is a Ram temple situated downhill alongside a big water dam. The beautiful gardens and a 40-ft Hanuman Statue managed by the temple trust are other points of attraction here. Though this temple is pretty new the Shibalinga established here is quite old dating back to the 6th century.
This renowned temple of Lord Shiva is situated in village Jogisarda. The shrine is quiet popular among the local inhabitants who come here to do penance in the form of fasting. In order to seek the blessings of the deity, they lie prostrate on the ground.
