Jhagadia is a taluka in the state of Gujarat, India. Jhagadia is located 2 mi south of on southern bank of the Narmada river. On its north lies the historical town of ShuklaThirth, where Chanakya lived until he returned to PatliPutra.To the north of Jhagadia is a historical town named ShuklaThirth, where Chanakya lived during his exile from PatliPutra (now Patna). Jhagadia is an industrial town and the major part of its economy is generated from industrial activities.

A nearby town named Bhalod, located on the banks of River Narmada, is famous for its cultural activities like Gangadashahara, a three day program for which, people from the Brahmin community come here from the world over, to seek the blessing of the holy river, Narmada. The day is celebrated as the day of birth of the sacred river, Ganga.
