Aliwardi Masjid, Gurgaon, Haryana India

This magnificent mosque was built by Nawab Aliwardi Khan who is the founder of Aliwardi village. The mosque is one of the very old mosques which is about 200 years old, situated at a distance of about 2km from Gurgoan.Next to the mosque, is the tomb of the founder of Aliwardi Masjid.

This mosque hosts a great foot fall game, especially during important Islamic festivals and events. At times, the entire stretch of NH8 leading to this mosque is cordoned off because the devotees offering Namaz spill out into the street. The mosque is also believed to be the resting place of Nawab Aliwardi Khan, the man who founded Aliwardi village and this shrine.
