Just outside Little Lhasa, as you descend towards Lower Dharamsala, is this stone church that stands aloof under giant deodar pines. It has exquisite stained glass windows depicting John the Baptist with Jesus and was among the first buildings built here by the British, in 1852. It is the only surviving monument of the time. Buried in the cemetery is former Viceroy Lord Elgin, who lost his life in an accident here while on a tour.
