Ranakpur Jain Temple, Ranakpur, Rajasthan India

one of the five most important pilgrimage sites of India – is dedicated to Lord Adinath who was the first Jain Tirthankara and is an architectural delight. The temple boasts of 1444 monolithic pillars in white marble which has some superb stonework on them. Each pillar has intricately carved sculptures and filigree work and none of the two pillars have similar designs carved on them. The other interesting feature of this temple is the dome of the temple which has ornate patterns and scrollwork. Since the temple is a four-faced structure it is also known as Chaumukha Temple.
