Parsvanath temple is the largest and probably the most visited temple in Khajuraho. Although this temple was built for the purpose of giving the people of Jain religion a place to worship and to make their god ‘Adinath' happy, there is clear evidence of the appreciations for Hindu religion. Although Parsvanath temple was built as a devotion to Avinath, the name was changed to Parsvanath in 1860 after making a sculptor of Parsvanath instead of making a sculptor of Avinath in the form of a bull.
The wall, which surrounds the temple, is wonderfully full with the sculptors of Jain and Hindu god and goddesses. The gods and goddesses here sculptured in various forms and poses. The sculptors are the evidence of how mixed was the ancient India in terms of religions, cultures and traditions. You will get a real chance to relax and have some days away from the hustle bustle of city life while taking some real knowledge about ancient Indianand religions. The 22 meter long and 11 meter wide Parsvanath temple is a wonder for many visited by thousands and millions of people from around the world every year.
