Naukuchiatal is picturesque lake. It has nine corners and hence the name. 26 km away from Nainital, Naukuchiatal attracts migratory birds, which makes it a 'bird watchers' paradise'.

This lake is still untouched by majority of the tourist population and owing to this, has managed to maintain its serenity till date. Take a walk around the nine cornered lake to enjoy the beautiful natural setting. Otherwise, you can also go on a boating tour and explore the scenic surroundings.

Located 4 kms to the north east of Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal is a haven for fishing enthusiasts. This is an area famous for its orchards. It was here that Rabindranath Tagore completed his collection of poems, Gitanjali, which won him the Nobel Prize.
