Dam Dim falls under Malbazar subdivision in Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal, India. It is famous for tea gardens and moist deciduous forests.
Dam Dim in Jalpaiguri District is situated 3 km south of Chalsa in West Bengal. Siliguri is about 39 km to its south-west. Ranichera in the west, Phagu in the north, and Neora Nadi in the south are the neighboring towns. In and around the town there are many enchanting spots, noteworthy among them are Dam Dim Tea Estate, Gorubathan, Gorumara National Park, Bindu, Murti, Samsing and Lataguri. Airport close to the town is Civil Enclave Bagdogra. Dam Dim Railway Station is the nearest railway station and the major station is New Jalpaiguri Railway Station.
Originally called as Dema Dema, this tea garden has become a tourist’s destination of Kolkata for its charming landscapes. Established as Barrons Tea Estate in 1927, this tea estate was under the UK based James Finlay & Co. Ltd before 1963, and later as TATA Tea.
