Dadri fair is one of the second largest fairs of India. The fair site is located at a distance of about 3 km from bus stand of Ballia city. The fair is held here annually starting from Kartik Purnima (October-November) in the honour of Dadar Muni, the disciple of Rishi Bhrigu.
One of the most prominent fair of livestock is the Dadri Mela of Uttar Pradesh. This cattle fair is annually held in the period of Kartik Purnima, which according to the Georgian Calendar happens to fall in the months of October and January.
The venue of this event is the town of Dadri that shares its name with the very festival, which is situated just at a distance of 5 km from the famous town of the state of Uttar Pradesh, Balia. This two week long fair bring people from near and far off cities for purchasing and selling of the cattle.
Undoubtedly, this is one of the best time to pay a visit to the state of Uttar Pradesh, as it will render you a wonderful opportunity to be a part of this religious festival and fair, along with the extravaganza of the festival.
