Chorwad Beach, Chorwad, Gujarat India

Situated close by the Chorwad Beach is Daria Mahal or the Chorwad Palace. The magnificent looking edifice has now been converted into a luxurious beach resort. 

Chorwad Beach is one of the finest and virgin beaches of Gujarat which is named after the nearby fishing village Chowrad. It is a perfect holiday destination where some tourist lodges have been developed recently. Tourist can laze around, enjoy swimming, surfing, and refresh themselves in the green surroundings along the coast line.  Chowrad is 66km from Junagadh and 22 km from Veraval Beach. It is also close to the Ahmedpur Mandvi which is another popular beach of Gujarat. 

Chorwad of Junagadh became a well known place after a magnificent palace was built there by Nawab Mohabbat Khan, who belonged to Junagadh. The nawab built this palace to spend the hot summer days in the vicinity of the sea. He organized a number of special events at this place including processions and banquets. In the year 1974, this building was taken up by the tourism corporation of the state of Gujarat. Thereafter, it has been transformed into a resort.

The tourists who come to visit Juanagadh often do not miss the opportunity of making a trip to the Chorwad Beach. One of the main attractions of this place is the spectacular view of the rocky shores. The tourists also enjoy a ride on country boats as well.
