Bhadeshwar Nath is one of the popular tourist attractions of the town, situated on the banks of river Kuwana. The shrine in the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is at a distance of about 6 kilometres from Basti. According to local folklore, the shrine was established by Ravana. On the auspicious occasion of Shivaratri, a fair is held at the shrine, which is attended by devotees from nearby regions. The main highlight of this Lord Shiva temple is the Shivalinga.
This old temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is located at a distance of about 6 km southeast of Basti city & 78 km from Gorakhpur in the village Bhadeshwar, in Basti district, U.P., India, on the bank of River Kuwano. The temple is supposed to be 200 year old and spreads over 30 bighas of land. Mondays are the special days, a fair of local importance is organized on Shivratri and a one month fair in Purushottam month is also held here. (Timing- 4am-12noon & 2pm-9pm during Summers and 5am-12noon & 2pm-8pm during Winters).
