Many devotees come here everyday to worship the Hindu Goddess Bagalamukhi, who is regarded as one of the ten goddesses of wisdom in the Hindu mythology. Situated on the road head of Dharamshala-Kangra-Chandigarh Highway, this temple is located at the entrance of Kotla Fort in Kangra. The name Bagalamukhi has come from the word Bagala and Mukha that mean bridle and face, respectively. Thus, etymologically, the name stands for 'one whose face has the power to rule'.
