Many endemic and rare species enrich this dry and deciduous forest. 

 Thoovanam Falls is located in Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary which lies 18 km north of Marayoor. This spectacular silvery waterfall is a perfect spot for any nature enthusiast. The river Pambar flows eastward through the sanctuary and forms this beautiful waterfall. Guided trekking is also available from Karimutti Forest Station.
