The Baba Ramdev Temple also known as the Ramdeora Temple is a significant religious attraction of Pokaran, situated at 12 km north of it. This temple is dedicated to a folk-deity of Rajasthan, Ramdeoji who was said to be the reincarnation of Lord Krishna and to possess miraculous powers. He took Samadhi at a place near this temple in 1458 AD, which is now called the Ramdeora Village. This temple was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner in 1931 AD around the last resting place of Ramdeoji.
Ramdevra is a wonderful pilgrim centre which symbolises national unity and communal harmony as devotees of all religion come here to pay homage. The majestic Shri Ramdev temple at Ramdevra, Runicha, 13 kms from Pokhran in Jaisalmer district, houses the shrine of Ramdev. He is believed to have been incarnated on earth for the benefit of humanity and was born in the house of Ajmalji in the Tomar Rajput family.
Since childhood, he performed many miracles and won the hearts of the people. He also performed a miracle and killed a dangerous demon called Bhairav. Ramdevji from 'UDU KASHMER' settled and made Ramadevra as his place where he attained a Samadhi and went into a divine state of meditation. Nevertheless many people claim to have seen him on horse-back.
Devotees offer Sweets, Coconuts, Makhanas, Misri and cloth made horse-image on the tomb. There is a water tank also. A dip in that is considered to be efficacious for skin diseases. Some followers come from great distances on foot, while some creep on belly to reach the temple.
The centre of attraction is the Samadhi-Mandir which is the temple of Ramapir, that includes the samadhis of his parents King Ajmalji and the Queen Mata Meenaldevi. The other samadhis are of his grandfather Raja Ransith Singhji and the elder brother Viramdevji and the two sons of Ramdevji. Baba is referred as Kalyug Avtaari where still many miracles are performed and devotees offer him.
