Ramakrishna Ashram, Along, Arunachal Pradesh India

Ramakrishna Ashram, which is a famous sightseeing attraction among travellers, was founded by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda and Sharada Mata. This ashram is visited by devotees for meditation.

The Ramakrishna Mission authorities at Belur Math were persuaded by the Govt of India to open a School in Along, West Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh in 1965. Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting wrote a letter to Srimat Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, the then Trustee of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.

Ramakrishna Ashramin Alongis a branch of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math.

This Ashram runs a missionary school in Along, dedicated to the great Saint Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. The school has a peaceful and beautiful campus with transport facilities, hostel, library, computer lab and a canteen.  The school aims at high level of spiritual learning along with excellence in education. Meditation is regularly practiced in the school. The prayer hall is an absolute divine place to meditate in peace with pictures of the great Saints around.Festivals and national events are celebrated with great grandeur here.

The Ashram conserves matter related to Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Maa Sharada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. The Ashram also conducts a number of social welfare programs held regularly including distribution of essentials to the under privileged.

Visitors love to visit the Ashram for spiritual guidance and mental peace. Some visitors love to meditate here. The serene ambience and green surroundings are an ideal place for one to unwind the stress of modern city life.
