Yupia, Overview
Yupia is located about 22 kms from the capital of the state, Itanagar. Yupia in Arunachal Pradesh is the headquarters of Parum Pare district. The Yupia Capital Complex Sub-Division consists of The terrain of Yupia, along with the entire Parum Pare district, is primarily mountainous. There are three types of forests in Yupia – Tropical mixed evergreen forest, tropical evergreen forest and the mixed forest. So Banana, Bamboo and Cane form the majority of the natural vegetation of Yupia. Animals like wild boar, barking deer, elephants, flying squirrels and samber populate these forests. The canopy like forests also house a wide range of birds, including woodpeckers, kingfisher, parakeets, mynas, trogon, hornbill, swifts, barbets and cuckoo. As far as the population of Yupia is concerned, it is comprised of Nishis and the Mikirs.
Yupia is a popular place for indulging in adventurous activities like hiking and trekking, as the necessary amenities are available here in plenty. You can also take a trip to the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum in the region, which is a popular tourist destination in Yupia. The Buddhist Gompa in Yupia is also very famous among travelling pilgrims and tourists.
