Malji Ka Kamra is one of the finest examples of havelis, which is located at Shekhawati, a remote region in the north of Rajasthan. The haveli along with many other havelis of the region is believed to be constructed in 19th century by a prominent Oswal Jain merchant family, the Kothari clans. Representing the perfect blend of Rajput and Italian architectural styles, the haveli with numerous doors and windows was built by Malaji Kothari.
The exteriors and interiors of the haveli are adorned with ancient lamp posts, frescoes, wall paintings and murals. Stone carved statues and extended doorways are some of other prime attractions of the haveli. Presently, the haveli is managed by a Brahmin caretaker and tourists can visit the haveli by taking his permission.
