It is constructed on the banks of the River Brahmaputra and was named after Kalia Bhomora Phukan, the Ahom General. The formation of Setu took over 6 years to complete and the activity was done from the year 1981 to 1987. The length of the bridge is 3015 m and is a linking point for Sonitpur district on the north with the Nagaon District on the south.
