How to Reach Hajo, India
Hajo by Road:
Being one of the most visited places in Assam, Hajo is well connected by road from Guwahati which is across River Brahmaputra as well as from Tezpur which is on the northeast of Hajo on the same side of the River Brahmaputra. Through the Guwahati-Nalbari Road and Guwahati-Barpeta Road, the rest of the State of Assam connects to Hajo. National Highway 27 and 31 pass through Amingaon on the north bank of River Brahmaputra – 20 kms from Hajo. From Amingaon, head northwest for 20 kms to reach Hajo.
Hajo by Train:
Guwahati Rail Junction which is located at the Paltan Bazar in the heart of Guwahati city is the nearest railhead to Hajo at 35 kms distance. Via Guwahati Rail Junction Hajo connects to Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Secunderabad, Trivandrum, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Lalgarh, Okha, Chennai, Jhajha, Puri, Jammu, Amritsar, Bikaner and Mumbai. Direct buses and taxis are available to Hajo from the Guwahati Railway Station. It is an hour’s drive from Guwahati to Hajo.
Hajo by Air:
Guwahati Airport or Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the nearest Airport to Hajo at 40 kms. Via Guwahati Airport, Hajo connects to Delhi, Imphal, Agartala, Aizawal, Jorhat, Silchar, Tezpur, Bagdogra, Jaipur, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata. There are regular Helicopter services between Guwahati and Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Assam State Tourism Buses, private buses and taxis are available at the Guwahati Airport.
