Sri Durga Mata Mandir is a pilgrim center in Ludhiana . Large number of devotees gathered in this temple daily for prayers to get the blessings of Durga Mata. It is believed that the temple compound now becomes a bigger compound due to Durga Matha’s blessings. It is only in Durga Mata Mandir that one can see the statues of Guru Nanak Devji, Vivekanand ji, Bhagwan Mahawir and Budha .There are also other Hindu statues along with these statues. The entrance of the temple is architectured in the figure of a mouth-opened tiger and devotees can enter the temple through its mouth.
The history of Hindu Society is traced back to the 1960’s , when some of the immigrants came to United States of America from India. With the memories of their motherland and its rich culture in their hearts, some families started meeting in their homes in the name of Lord Krishna. They formed a Gita Society and met once a month at the home of a host family. They shared the recitation of Bhagvad Gita, bhajans.
