Dharmrajeshwar is situated in Garoth tahsil of Mandsaur district. It has the 9th century monolithic temple of Dharmarajeshwara that is carved out of solid natural rock. The temple is carved out of a rock of size 50 metre in length, 20 metre in width and 9 metre deep. It has a sanctum along with a Sabhamandapa and a porch. The spire is in the north Indian style. There are seven small temples around the main temple. There is a big Shivalinga in the main temple along with an image of Lord Vishnu. On the entrance gate there are figures engraved of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Statues of Bhairava, Goddess Kali, Lord Shiva, Garuda and Parvati are also present there.
A grand fair is organized at the temple on the occasion of Shivaratri. These caves were noticed by James Tod who gave a number of caves to be 170 and indicated them to be belonging to Jain culture.
