These are the ruins of the fort that was built by Magadha King Ajatshatru during Lord Buddha’s time (6th century B.C.). There is also a 6.5 sq.m. Ajatshatru’s stupa built at the site.
This is one of the oldest and prominent forts in Bihar. This fort was built in 6 century B.C is a great example of fine architecture. Built by Magadha’s ruler Ajatshatru this fort also has a prison inside where he used to keep his father Bimbisara inside. People would be astonished to see the fort with about 60 meters walls and stone tower. Lord Buddha had resided over here during the time of construction.
