Situated in the vicinity of the Dakshineswar Temple, 44 Kms from the city, Adayapeath Temple is devoted to Goddess Kali which is the main deity of the temple. As per the legend, the statue of the temple was founded by a young Brahmin in Eden Gardens. Though he worshipped the statue but he was ordered by the Goddess in a dream to dip it in the Ganga River. He then took a photograph of the image and built the temple with the help of that photograph.
