For the visitors enjoying long hiking and trekking, a wonderful 3 to 4 day trek is available with delightful path. The usual trek follows south escarpment from Berijem lake to the Kerala border Vandaraw and back thro 'Poondi' , Kavunji, Kukkal are Poombaral villages.The big Mannavanur sheep farm will be crossed.
One has to hire a local guide to avoid missing of routes. The view of the cliffs is breathtaking. Several mountain streams with panoramic view can be seen. Previous permission should be obtained from Dist Forest office for stay in forest rest houses. Food should be brought while trekking since only tea shops are available at villages in between.
