Brimbin Nature Reserve is located 12 kilometres north west of Taree on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.
This area is also significant to the local Biripi people. The name "Brimbin" is an Aboriginal word derived from "Borembit" or stringybark, a tree species common in the reserve.
The 50 hectare reserve has a day use picnic area with shelter, free gas barbecues, water and toilet facilities. The reserve is located on the banks of the Dawson River and Tommy Owens Creek. A jetty for launching your canoe is available. There are also two walking tracks: Dawson River Walk and Kate Kelly Walk.
Brimbin is home to an endangered species of eucalypt, which is an important food and habitat for koalas.
