Vandanmedu, located in the western ghats in Idukki district in Kerala, is 4000 ft above sea level. It is an area of dense forests with occasional cardamom and tea estates.

Vandanmedu is one of the largest producers of cardamom in the whole world. The auction center for cardamom is also located here.

Its scenic beauty and unpolluted environs make Vandanmedu an ideal holiday spot all through the year. Vandanmedu is also famous for trekking and rock climbing activities which attracts lots of tourist towards this beautiful village.
