Regarded as one of the most captivating structures of Islamic mosaic work stands ruined but worth a visit to witness the artistry of a bygone era. The Madrasa which stood for teachings of Q uranic verses which are carved on the walls in flowing calligraphic style point to the erstwhile splendor of this building. The surrounding areas both west and east of the town are dotted with domed tombs of Bahamani and Barid Shahi rulers.
The spacious building of the institution is considered as a architectural gem and an important structure of Bidar. Rectangular shaped with a built in area of 4624 sq. meters, and 131 ft. high, the building is attractively decorated with blue colored titles, the fragments of which can be seen even today. It was known to be a university for students who were taught Arabic, Persian languages, theology, philosophy, astronomy, mathematics etc. They were given free boarding and lodging facilities besides free education.
