Nav Nalanda Vihar is an institution which spreads knowledge of Buddhist culture and education. Built in the year 1951 this center main aim was to increase awareness of Pali script and Buddhism which is dying a slow death. In order to boast and inculcate such education Government decided to setup this center. Visitors when visits this place they would get to know that a lot of foreign students who want to get in-depth knowledge of Buddha culture had come over here. These students come from different countries like Japan, Sri Lanka, Korea, Bhutan and Tibet. The nearby attraction is the lotus pond.
A modern center of Buddhist thought set up by the Bihar Government, in the year 1951 Nava Nalanda Vihar tries to spread the ancient tradition to the modern generation. The institute is located at the famous lotus pond in Bihar. The centre mainly dealt with research-oriented education in the Pali script and Buddha religion.

The main aim of this institution is to bring back the old world charm of Nalanda as a seat of education and culture.
