Half Moon Beach, Gokarna, Karnataka India

Half-Moon beach is a lesser known beach in Gokarna, Uttara Kannada district. Situated south of the famous Om beach, Half-Moon beach is simple breathtaking. The beach is pretty much empty with only a few foreign tourists and is an ideal place to spend a day sitting on the rocks with the waves splashing against your feet! The path from Om beach to Half-Moon is exciting with scenic views of the promontory jutting into the sea and a few coconut trees swaying in the wind amidst the  huge rocks. The trail is mostly single track and in some places it is advised to proceed slowly by keeping a good foothold as a single slip-up shall result in a steep fall. The walk on the trail from Om beach to Half-Moon will take about 15-20 minutes only and is totally worth the effort. There are a few shacks on Half-Moon beach too but do stock up on some water for the short trek as the climate is pretty humid around these parts.

Half Moon beach: It is a smaller but one of the magnificent attraction of Gokarna. In fact, Half Moon beach and Om beach are separated by a cliff that offers a great view to its travelers. It is one of the most attractive tourist destinations where one can enjoy a number of adventurous and fun related activities with family and friends as well. Some famous activities here at the beach are Volleyball, Canoes, Paintball, Paddleboats, Cabins, Camping available.

Half moon beach - a crescent shaped cove is a rocky stretch and a very small stretch of beach on the way to full moon beach or Paradise beach. Half moon beach is also inaccessible by road and only means to reach other than on foot is by boat!.
