Spread over an area of around 8 sq km, the Bondla wildlife sanctuary is the smallest wildlife sanctuary of Goa, located on the border of Ponda (20 km) and Sanguem district, in North East Goa. The landscape of the Bondla wildlife sanctuary is amazing, providing a natural ecosystem with the lush green vegetation. The Bondla national park has a Botanical Garden, Rose Garden and Deer Park within its premises. The forest of Bondla wildlife sanctuary, Goa consists of bamboo plantations along with trees like Terninalia Crenulata, Rosewood, Lagerstroemia, Kindall, Jamba, Mimusops, etc. The Bondla wildlife sanctuary has numerous species of animals like Panthers, Jungle Cats, Leopard Cats, various species of Deer and numerous bird species like woodpeckers, kingfishers, hornbills, etc. Jeep safari is also available inside the deer park in the Bondla sanctuary. The Bondla sanctuary remains closed on Thursdays. Best time to visit the sanctuary is October to March.
