Tarakeshwar Temple, Tarakeshwar, West Bengal India

Tarakeshwar Temple is at the center of all activities of the village. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is thronged by millions of people all year round especially during Sravan or Sawan in the months of July to August which is considered to be very pious by the Shiva devotees. The temple has been built in the traditional Bengali architecture with “Atchala” structure and a “Natmandir” which is a dedicated area to offer prayers.
