St. Mary’s church was built in 1080 AD and got renovated in 1874.The Church of Athirampuzha, dedicated to Our Lady, the Blessed Mary, has been the spring of living waters fo the faithful since its instigation in the 9th century. Athirampuzha St. Mary's Church has a unique and ancient statue of St. Sebastian. It is believed to have been brought here by local traders at the time of Portuguese dominance. The statue depicts the Saint without arrows piercing into the body.
