Nallah Ningli which is considered to be the lifeline of this north Kashmir area is on the verge of destruction.
Flowing from the melting snow and ice on Affarwat mountain and the Alpather Lake, this pretty water stream passes through many picteresque villages including Naghbal, Danmoha, Kalantara, Muqam, Darwa, Mangam, Wagila, Wagoora etc and the stream continues down into the valley below and joins the Jhelum River near Sopore.
This Nallah serves as a backbone for agricultural activities in the whole area and supplies water to many areas of Kreeri, Sangrama, Sopore and Sonawari.
Besides being the rich source of stones, sand, boulders and bajiri, the Nallah is a good source of fish also. Various irrigation canals, which include the famous Shah Koll and the Khan Koll, supply water to fields of many areas.
It is said that the water of Nallah Ningli had medicinal value in ancient times but now the water of this Nallah has been been polluted.
