Central Forest Nursery, Nilambur, Kerala India

Central Forest Nursery, one of the four forest nurseries of Kerala, was set up in 1997. This was established with the aim of generating premium quality seedlings such as like teak, acacias and eucalypts. This nursery serves instrumental to the proper functioning of the plantations in Nilambur and is under the administration of Kerala Forest Department. Central Forest Nursery is located at Valluvassery in close proximity to Nilambur town.

The root trainer seedlings and rooted cuttings of many prominent species of trees are produced in this fully equipped nursery. This place is highly recommended for those travelers who are interested in plant life and plantations.

Established in the year 1997, the Central Forest Nursery was one of the four forest nurseries in Kerala. In keeping with the aim of producing good quality produce of important plantations like teak, eucalypts, acacias & many more the nursery is fully equipped to meet these needs. With an annual production of 1.5 lakh teak root-trainer seedlings, 1.2 lakh of eucalypt seedlings, 0.5 lakh seedlings of acacias, and 0.9 lakh seedlings of miscellaneous species, the nursery has been doing well.
