Maharajganj is very old town. It is situated near by Siwan to Paigampur Road. The road cross near by this town. Before siwan district it was under Saran. Gud (Deshi Sweet), Gallan market (Anaj Mandi) and cloth market of this town very old, but Gud mandi close some years before. Some high school like Umashanker singh high School, S K J R High School are very old and famous in city. Famous mela "Maunia Baba" is very old and people celebrate it high label arkestra in modern time. Some years ago there were many mango orched. Office of Registrar is situated near by Railway Station is also oldest office. But in present time this town struggle for their oldest good image.
