Yeldari Dam, Parbhani, Maharashtra India

Yeldari Dam, is an earthfill dam on Purna river near Yeldari, Parbhani district in the state of Maharashtra in India. eldari Dam has several other places of interest in its nearby areas that attract lots of tourists from all over the country. Some of the notable places are Siddheshwar Dam, Lonar Crater Lake and Kamalja Devi Temple. Yeldari Dam is situated close to several cities within the range of 100 km, including Risod, Hingoli, Mehkar, Partur, Washim, Malegaon, Paturand Chikhli.

There is an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu around the dam. At a distance of about half kilometre by road, it is said that this temple was constructed by the Kings of Vijayanagar Empire. It was built in the 16th century and makes for a religious place as well as a wonderful picnic spot. The temple is surrounded by lush greenery and a dense forestry.

Parbhani manages to attract a large number of visitors in the months of February, March, October, November and December. These months experience pleasant climate which is considered as the best for sightseeing and other outdoor activities.
