Kowdiar Palace, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala India

 Kowdiar Palace  in Trivandrum, Kerala, India was built in 1915 by Sree Moolam Thirunal and was gifted to Sethu Parvati Bayi. It is the official residence of the Travancore Royal Family.  Kowdiar Palace's architectural work is famous and has over 150 rooms. The entry to this famous palace, which has great historical importance, is restricted. 

The Kowdiar Palace was the home of the late Maharaja Sree Chitra Thirunal Balarama Varma and his family. Presently, the descendants of the royal king reside here. Public are not permitted to enter the palace, but can view this grand old building from the gate.

Kowdiar Palace's architectural work is famous. The entry to this famous palace, which has great historical importance is restricted. Raj Bhavan, Trivandrum Golf Club, Kanakakunnu Palace and Napier Museum are the nearby attractions. Kowdiar Palace is located at Kowdiar in Thiruvananthapuram District. Trivandrum International Airport is about 14 km and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station is around 6 km from the palace.

 Kowdiar Palace located in Thiruvananthapuram was built during the reign of Sree Moolam Thirunal in 1915 and was presented to Sethu Parvati Bayi, who once was the Junior Rani of Attingal under the Senior Rani, Sethu Lekshmi Bayi. It is also the official home of the Travancore Royal Family. The palace has 150 rooms and each room is designed through kerala architectural style. The entry to this palace is restricted. 

 The Kowdiar Palace is also the residence of the late Maharaja Sree Chitra Thirunal Balarama Varma and his members of family. Currently, the descendants of the Travancore royal members reside here. Public are not allowable to go into the palace, but can view this impressive old palace from the gate. Some of the nearby attractions of this palace include Kanakakunnu Palace, Napier Museum and Raj Bhavan. This was the home of the Sree Chithira Thirunaal Balarama Varma  and his family. His Highness Chithira Thirunaal was laid to rest in the beautiful gardens,  inside the campus of the Kowdiar Palace. Since the architecture of the Kowdiar palace is very well known and of historical importance. The entry for the visitors is restricted and one can see the Palace only from the gate at the Entrance into the campus.
