Kopineshwar Mandir is among the most revered patron temples in Thane city & is a must visit for any devotee/ tourist coming to Thane. The temple reconstructed by the by Sarsubhedar Ramaji Mahadeo Bivalkar after Salsette was captured by the Marathas in approximately 1760. It was further repaired in 1879 by the Hindu community, at a cost of Rs. 8,000.

The temple assumed to be century old, is an attractive shrine with a unique idol of Goddess Devi. The annual fair in this temple attracts thousands of devotees. As the temple is located at the Kelva beach, the temple premises are always keep a cool climate with soft sea breeze. One can see from the premise of the temple, the grandeur views of country boats moving in the sea for fishing.
