Gurudev Siddha Peeth, the first Siddha Yoga ashram, is a ‘shakti peeth’, a centre of spiritual energy. Located in the Tansa valley of Maharashtra, India, Gurudev Siddha Peeth is a place of great natural beauty and profound spiritual power. The main purpose of the ashram is to be a model environment for students to study the Siddha Yoga teachings and practices that lead to liberation.
Since Gurudev Siddha Peeth began in 1956, it was renowned for its daily schedule. Over the years, Gurumayi and Baba have emphasised the importance of doing the practices in the ashram daily schedule with focus and discipline. This focus fortifies and invigorates the ashram environment for students now and in the future.
Siddhayogis come to Gurudev Siddha Peeth to both experience and contribute to this ashram environment. Beginning early in the morning and continuing throughout the day, students come together for the Siddha Yoga practices of meditation, chanting, and seva.
